Building design, drafting and planning support in Sydney and Newcastle

Bring us your site, ideas or existing plans. We will help define the next steps for your project, with a design perspective informed by 30+ years of practical building experience.

A practical starting point

Resolve the idea. Develop the detail.

A well-considered design connects what you want with what the site can accommodate and how it may be built. We bring design and building experience to the early decisions that can help manage cost and reduce avoidable rework.

Sydney

Start with your Sydney site.

Sydney spans many council areas, so the site address matters from the first conversation. Share your brief, existing plans and any council correspondence so the relevant controls and information needs can be considered.

Whether you are exploring a new design or progressing an existing proposal, we can discuss building design, drafting and planning support suited to your stage.

Newcastle

Develop your Newcastle idea.

Bring together what you know about your Newcastle property: its address, available survey or existing-building information, and what you want to change or create.

From there, we can discuss the design direction, further information needed and the drawing or planning tasks to include. Any site access, measurements and specialist input will be addressed when defining the scope.

Design

A direction worth developing.

Concept design brings your priorities into focus: layout, orientation, scale, access and the relationship between indoor and outdoor space. Design development then refines the preferred direction and addresses the information needed for the next stage.

Your quote will set out the proposed drawing outputs, design stages and revision process. Consultant reports and specialist design work are identified separately where required.

Drafting

Drawings with a clear purpose.

The drawing package depends on what you need it for. Share your existing drawings, survey, relevant approvals and consultant information so their completeness and suitability can be assessed.

We define the plans, elevations, sections and details required for the appointed stage. Existing plans are reviewed before reuse, including permission to modify them and any missing site or consultant information.

Planning in New South Wales

The pathway follows the site and proposal.

NSW approval requirements depend on the proposed work and the site. A development application or complying development pathway may be relevant; some minor works may be exempt. Eligibility needs to be assessed for the particular proposal.

Drawings and planning support

We can discuss the design and documentation support your application may need. The appointment should specify who handles planning advice, reports, lodgement, council liaison and responses to further information requests.

Building design, drafting and planning support are available for discussion. The exact deliverables and any specialist appointments depend on your site, project type and written scope.

Can you work from plans I already have?

Yes, subject to reviewing their suitability and your permission to use or modify them. Share the drawings, relevant approvals and available site information so we can identify what needs to be retained, updated or developed.
